Exploring London: Notting Hill

It's without a doubt that Notting Hill is one of the prettiest (and most-instagrammed) places in London. With candy-coloured townhouses, flourishing cherry blossoms and vintage cars in abundance, its hard not to understand why. Yet, this little West London corner of the city shouldn't just be admired for its beauty - there are plenty of delicious restaurants, bustling bars and stylish shops to lose and immerse yourself in. Find out these cool discoveries by clicking below...

TO EAT

Snap & Rye
London's obsession for all things Scandinavian extends to food too. Snap & Rye, a Danish eatery located down Golborne Road, is the perfect place if your taste buds crave anything organic, freshly baked and made with love! I haven't yet tried this place, but on my next venture to this neighbourhood, I'll be sure to check this off my bucketlist.

Granger & Co
This Australian restaurant is possibly the most famous in Notting Hill. It's no wonder why as the food is pretty dang delicious. Think sunny fried eggs for brekkie, tuna and avocado salad for lunch, braised lamb for dinner and holy mother of pearl, even a white chocolate and pistachio pavlova for dessert (damn it, should've kept that one a secret!).

Café at Bodyism
This café of a wellness center is a delightful little suntrap and one of the few places in town where you can grab a good Acai bowl. In need of something super healthy yet tantalizingly delicious? Hit this place up! For more info, check this post out.

Egg Break
This cosy all-day breakfast café will have you dreaming of it all day long. Perhaps not the most instagram-worthy from its exterior, but inside this place will have you snapping in a frenzy, both at the cottage-style décor and at the marvellous food. Check out this post if you want to see just how good their breakfast's really are.

Other places to try: Pizza East, Polpo, Gail's, 202 Café, Daylesford Organic, Farm Girl Café...see I told you - this neighbourhood is littered with delicious eats and coffee shops!

TO SEE/ DO

Clifton nurseries
Until researching for this blog post, I hadn't actually even heard of these beautiful nurseries, so I can't wait to check them out now! Immerse yourself in the beautiful garden designs and constructions - a true haven in the bustling city of London.

Visit the Notting Hill film hot spots

The Bookshop: 142 Portobello Road

The Market: Portobello Road Market

The Secret Garden: Rosmead Gardens on Rosmead Road

Notting Hill Carnival
This carnival, which celebrates Afro-Caribbean culture, originated in 1964 but is inspired by late-nineteenth century Caribbean carnivals which commemorate the abolition of slave trade and slavery. Notting Hill Carnival is an amazing array of sounds, colourful sights and social solidarity. You'll be sure to have fun rocking up to this street party.

Portobello Road Market
So many iconic London hotspots are located in Notting Hill, including the famous Portobello Road market. Engulf yourself in the beautiful vintage pieces and fun fashion finds on offer.

Visit Wild At Heart
You've probably seen this eye-wateringly beautiful flower stall crop up on your Instagram feed at least once. But once you're finished looking at how stunning the sight is, be sure to have a good ol' sniff and stare of how lovely all of the blooms are.

Shop
There's plenty of amazing stores on offer. Vintage? Designer? Antiques? Homeware? Stationary? Something unique? Notting Hill as it all. Click here to see a full list of shops.

You can't go wrong by just simply roaming around the meandering streets of Notting Hill, gazing at the story-book townhouses. Why not take a walk around St. Lukes Mews which boasts the most beautiful houses that are just waiting to be papped...my favourite blogger GalMeetsGlam has already beaten me to it!

TO DRINK AND DANCE

Rum Kitchen
Also known for their delicious cuisine, this Caribbean beach shack is the perfect place for an exquisite cocktail too.

Supperclub
This club and performance space is sure to have you dancing in no time! The perfect end to a great day spent in Notting Hill.

Trailer Happiness
A den-like cocktail bar mixing up drinks with a Tiki twist.

And there you have it! I really enjoy creating these neighbourhood guides, and I only hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them. I love Notting Hill, but I've now discovered so many beautiful hidden gems in this neighbourhood that I never knew existed before, so will be sure to take many more trips.

Do you have any Notting Hill recommendations?
