Shoreditch Adventures

Exploring the many eccentric corners of London is a past time my friends and I love to favour. Perhaps its the indie clothing stores that pop up around every corner, the rustic cafés that sell deliciously rich coffee, or the fact that the city is always full of buzz and atmosphere.

Shoreditch, in East London, is one of my favourite areas to visit. This place is full of hip and trendy twenty-somethings which make the area full of fun and excitement. There's restaurants, bars and clubs spilling out from every corner and every time you visit there's something new to discover. So, one sunny Friday morning my friend Sarah and I hopped on the train to our new favourite escape...

Pizza East is the restaurant in Shoreditch. If you're in search of incredible home-made pizzas this place is for you.

Salted caramel chocolate tart - no biggie

The term 'graffiti' doesn't do the detailed and intricate artwork justice in Shoreditch. The walls are plastered with thought-provoking and awe-inspiring designs that will have your jaw drop to the floor.

And look who we bumped into! Kim from Love of Cloth is one of my favourite bloggers, so after spotting her by a bar with her boyfriend, I knew I just had to ask for a picture! She was so lovely!

My left arm clearly wanted to disappear for this snap

What's On My Face #22

Today I fancied shying away from my natural, everyday look and opted to try something a little different. Well, as different as a pale shimmery eyeshadow and eyeliner look can be. However, I couldn't steer clear of my usual look too much, as I still sported fresh skin, fluttery lashes and bare skin. So, without further ado, let's take a look at the products used...

And I used nothing but a bit of lip balm on my lips!

Teresa Oman x Discover & Escape

Shot at Rae’s on Wategos, Byron Bay

Every now and and then I stumble upon an incredible editorial that really inspires and speaks to me. It's only now that I've thought of sharing with you all the ones I've recently loved. This one is from Discover & Escape, one of my new current favourite websites for all things travel, style and lifestyle.

For this photoshoot, which is tucked away in Australia’s easternmost point, there’s a secluded villa with a soft green lawn that rolls right down to the blue of Byron Bay. The gentle mix of breezy, bohemian style and crisp, unfiltered light makes this idyllic escape all the more enticing. It features model Teresa Oman in intimate, free-spirited and sun-drenched moments that just make me turn green with envy, as looking out the window today, the heavens have opened and not with beautiful angelic sunshine. London, have you forgotten summer?

Happy Friday!

FASHION'S POWER SISTERS

With Balmain's release of their autumn/winter 2015 campaign featuring a diverse collection of famous, fashionable sisters, there's a new accessory about this season. It's time to put aside the bickering or her constant reminding of your embarrassing moments and grab your sister like the very last Chanel bag on the shelf. There are a whole new bunch of siblings to take inspiration from. From the Hadid sisters, Bella and Gigi storming the catwalks to London's own Immy and Suki Waterhouse - take inspiration from these stylish siblings. The trick to nailing this trend? Co-ordinate your looks. Do share clothes but embrace your individuality, there's no need for matchy-matchy instead it's all about complimentary colour palettes and unique styling choices. So, grab your sister and hit the town!

1. Suki and Immy Waterhouse - As much as we all know Suki, perhaps for her slender figure which makes its way down the Burberry catwalk season after season, or for her envious, unique British style, the model has an equally amazing sister. Making her LFW catwalk debut this year and being announced as the face of accessories brand Helmer, Immy Waterhouse is firmly following in her older sister’s footsteps. Opting for coordinating dusty mint (my current fave colour!) at the 2015 Serpentine Summer Party, these sister's are firmly becoming the girls to watch now.

2. Dakota and Elle Fanning - These bleach-blonde haired and angel-faced beauties are seriously stylish siblings. Both have fronted several campaigns and been muses for designer collections, stacking their CV up to be rather impressive. When these sisters take to the red-carpet they favour feminine yet directional designers like Rodarte and Chanel.

3. Kendall and Kyle Jenner - What's a blog post about sassy siblings without featuring the Jenner sisters? The youngest sisters in the Kardashian dynasty, Kendall and Kylie have been making a fashionable name for themselves in the past few years. Older sister Kendall has strutted her stuff for the likes of Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Oscar de la Renta along with scoring several high-profile magazine covers and campaigns. At New York Fashion Week earlier this year, Kylie made her runway debut at Kanye West’s show. And to top it all off, they are both featured in the current Balmain campaign.

4. Joan and Erika Smalls - Also fronting the Balmain campaign (and featruing in one for the first time together), the Smalls sisters are sizzling in style. Watch out for this power duo.

5. Edie and Olympia Campbell - Edie and Olympia Campbell are making an impact on the international fashion scene. Edie has been in the style spotlight since a Vogue shoot led her to being cast in a Burberry campaign with Kate Moss. She’s since starred in campaigns for Alexander McQueen, Christian Dior and Saint Laurent and has walked in dozens of shows. Now, younger sister Olympia is breaking into the fashion world. For the S/S 2013 season, Olympia was the face of a Marc Jacobs campaign.

6. Cara and Poppy Delevingne - In light of the Jenner sisters, this blog post would be boneless without the world's favourite sibling pairing. The Delevingnes are a lesson in complementary style. Poppy, a Chanel and British Fashion Council ambassador favours a feminine, polished look while lil' sis Cara, everyone’s favourite fashion IT girl, is the queen of androgynous-yet-quirky chic.

7. Gigi and Bella Hadid - Also current faces of the Balmain autumn/winter campaign, the new IT girls on the scene, Gigi and Bella have taken the fashion world by storm. Modelling since she was two, older sister Gigi is now a regular on the global catwalks since her debut in 2014, while Bella recently walked in Tom Ford’s Los Angeles show.

8. Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen - These 28-year-old twins have come along way since their sitcom start. Now as fully-fledged, high-end designers these sisters are pros when it comes to coordinating chic. They favour vintage designs from top fashion houses but most often you’ll find them out and about in pieces from their own label, The Row. And, of course, let's not forget about Elizabeth Olsen, the youngest sister of the twins, and one of my favourite fashion and beauty icons.
