Christmas-y Nails...Already!

Red Barry M nails! Painted them last night for a Halloween party I was going to. Against all the fake blood, knives, scars, black fur, stitches and backcombed hair...they didn't look like Christmas nails anymore! I really recommend this nail varnish - its really sparkly and an instant glamorization to a plain outfit. A fool-proof coat should go on first as its glitter and because the nail varnish leaves quite a rough matte finish, a clear top coat should be added, unless of course you want a matte finish!

Christmas Nail Trends:

  • Glitter (any colour but click here for a good advice on glitter nails from a good blog I know).
  • Plain dark green
  • Dalmatian print (look for nail wraps at Topshop if your a bit weary).
  • Multi-coloured

Sneaky Peek: Lauren Conrad's New Books!

Yes ladies, you heard me right! Lauren Conrad is publishing TWO new books (try not to faint!), the first one follows her L.A Candy series and is called The Fame Game. If you've read her L.A Candy series , then you know bad girl Madison Parker. In The Fame Game, Madison is ready to claim the spotlight at last. The only problem? Carmen, who has grown up in Hollywood, might just be better at playing the game than Madison. The Fame Game is out on April 3, 2012 so stay tuned! Well I said there was two new books right? She is currently working on Lauren Conrad Beauty which is a bit like Lauren Conrad Style. Lauren Conrad Beauty will be the ultimate guide for all things beauty. In it, she will provide her personal insights, instructions and tips to keep us looking glamorous 365 days a year. She'll address everything from how your diet affects skincare and fun hairstyles for a night out to one simple thing you can do each day to freshen up your look. Im so excited! BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! Lauren wants the book to completely be for us, and us only so she's asking us if we have any questions for her to answer in her book. In order to ask a question you need to click this link: http://www.laurenconrad.com/post/first-look-lauren-conrad-the-fame-game-cover-new-beauty-book-exclusive and LEAVE a comment in the box below on the link with your question. The question has to be beauty-related, so it can be about makeup, hair, nails etc.

Pheasant, Peacock or Is It A Clip In Feather Extension?

I'm very excited to announce that Topshop will be bringing in some clip-in feather extensions from Feather Ray (as seen in picture below) to their stores. I've been obsessed ever since I saw Selena Gomez and Hilary Duff wearing this trend earlier in the year! Their DIY hair kits offer a set of seven feathers along with the tools to attach them if you want to try it out for yourselves. The packs come in a range of rainbow colours so you can mix and match to create your own, or you can go for a specific colour if you already know exactly what you want. The feathers are completely natural and can be blow-dried, curled, straightened and styled just like real hair so there are endless ways to experiment with them. You know when you want to update your hair without doing anything too drastic? Well, this is it! I reckon this is one hair trend definitely worth trying. Let me know what you think...

Above and below (the pictures) are the exact ones that Topshop will be selling.

Pink Hair?!

All of a sudden there has been this massive rave about pink hair. Katy Perry, Dianna Agron and Lily Allen kicked off the trend (Katy Perry is still hanging in there!) and now everybody's trying it. I'm personally not going to try it but if your into that sort of thing then why not try dip-dye ends first to get a glimpse of what it would look like. I think it looks very effective and cool, but I prefer more natural colours (boring, I know!). The key is to go for as sugary-a-shade as possible. Take tangerine, lavender and blush hues as your starting point and then create your very own candy coloured combination!

My Styling Tips For Autumn...

  • Orange coats are huge!
  • Materials like velvet, leather, faux fur and suede are all a must-have.
  • Classic Autumn colours like brown, orange, white and dark green are bang-on trend.
  • Pencil skirts are long gone, its all about black flippy skirts this season.
  • Faux cheetah print, sequins, faux snakeskin print, dalmatian print, studs and big embellishment is also in.
  • Don't forget monochrome but if your the type of person who loves colour, clash jewel tones (red and purple go great together!)
  • Things like polkadots, lace and mesh...don't forget them too!
  • Cut-out detailing is set to be spectacular!
  • Pale pink is coming up the ladder!

Makin Jan Ma (eh?)

I know what your thinking, what the hell is Makin Jan Ma? Well if you haven't heard of it...its a fashion brand and an amazing one of that! It's time to let your imaginations run wild with Makin Jan Ma's conceptual designs! There designs are very casual but deconstructed. I love their open round silhouettes. VERY pricey so some may so its not worth the hype and I'm pretty sure I won't be buying one of their items but I can still admire...

Baby Its Cold Outside!

Picking the perfect coat can be a wild adventure but it is a serious matter when going through Autumn and Winter. Ideally, you want something than can go ontop of anything, stylish but warm and office/school friendly. When I choose a coat I always go for a bright colour (to give colour to gloomy days) and not too tight as I wear alot of layers. I always go for the classic style - trench and pea as I love there timeless silhouettes.   Needless to say, choosing the perfect coat is a tough task. The market is flooded with choices, making it difficult to commit. Here are a few ideas and pointers for you...
