Barcelona Bucketlist

This summer my sister and I are venturing to Barcelona, Spain - the heart of sunshine, salsa and sangria. As it's our first time visiting this beautiful city, we are incredibly excited but of course, we're a little unsure of just how much it has to offer. With oodles of colour and charm around every turn, there is so much to see and we definitely don't want to miss out on anything we'll later regret. So, I've decided to do a little research and below is our Barcelona bucketlist - if you're planning on visiting this city soon too, this will come in handy!

1. Sagrada Familia - Probably the most famous landmark in Barcelona, this unfinished cathedral was designed by of course, Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi - who's works crop up all over the city.

2. Park Guell - This public park in Barcelona boasts amazing views and vivid colours that have now come to be symbolic of a trip to Barcelona.

3. Arc de Triomf - A triumphal arc is a must-see in every city!

4. Eat plenty of tapas - I've heard that one of the best things you can do with your time in Barcelona is eat as there is SO much great food to get through whilst you’re there! Tapas are the preferred food item of choice, as they will allow you to eat small portions and subsequently make your way through many flavours and dishes on offer. I can't wait to try the very famous restaurants Tapas 24 and Bodega 1900.

5. Eat in Taranna - This café looks too beautiful to believe. With unique touches and beautiful fixtures, it seems straight out of the most perfect Instagram you’ve ever seen.

6. Parc de la Ciutadella - An afternoon spent wandering the grounds of this park is guaranteed to be time well spent.

7. Magic Fountain of Montjuïc - I can't wait to see this spectacular fountain display at night.

8. Parc del Laberint d’Horta - One of the oldest gardens in Barcelona, if there ever was a place to wander around and get lost in, this is it.

9. Drink Sangria - Sangria is a popular drink in Spain. This delicious beverage is a combination of red wine, chopped fruit, a sweetener and brandy. Yum!

10. Sagrat Cor - This church apparently takes some effort to get to as it’s located on the summit of Mount Tibidabo in Barcelona but once you arrive at it, you’ll be rewarded with an impressive sight.

11. Take a The Fat Bike Tour - With Barcelona being such a big city, it's hard to fit everything all in. Of course, a quick and fun way to see as many sights as possible is from a bike ride. The Fat Bike tour takes a slow pace, stopping at sights as you pass.

12. Indulge at Boqueria Market - This food market is one of the most famous in the world. It’s a great place to wander around and try fresh and local foods.

13. Have drinks at Surf House - I am SO SO SO excited to try this dreamy place! Surf House is a good choice if you’re hoping for a drink with a sea view. Hip locals flock here for the relaxed, seaside ambiance and killer view of the Mediterranean. Head over after a long day at the beach, scope out an outdoor table, and have a drink while enjoying some of the most beautiful views in Barcelona.

14. Have cocktails on a Rooftop bar - There's something so magical and summery about rooftop bars at night and luckily there are so many to choose from in Barcelona. The Majestic Hotel looks pretty lush, but so does W Hotel and the Skybar Grand Hotel Central.

Have you been to Barcelona before? Do you have any recommendations?
